Sambar or Acty for a camper conversion?

Thinking about a small camper on a kei van. Sambar has the rear engine and the extra headroom, Acty is mid engine and a bit more civilised. Has anyone converted either?

Sambar owner here. The rear engine means a lovely flat floor and a better weight balance, but you will hear it all night. Insulate the bulkhead.

Whichever you pick, budget for the rust repair under the rear window. Both are prone to it.
