Getting started

Welcome to KeiWorld. Anyone can read the public parts of the site. To post, reply, upload photos or message people, you need an account.

Create an account

1. Choose Sign up at the top of any page.
2. Pick a username. It must be 3 to 24 characters long, using lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. You cannot change it later, so choose one you like.
3. Enter your email address and a password of at least 10 characters.
4. Press the sign up button.

Verify your email

We send you an email with a link. Open it and press the button on the page that appears. The link works for 24 hours.

Until your email is verified you can read everything and change your account settings, but you cannot post, upload, send messages or start builds. A yellow "Verify your email" notice stays at the top of the site until you are done.

If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder, then ask for a new one from the verify page.

A note for new members

For your first few days, and until you have written a handful of posts, a few extra limits apply. You may not be able to post links, send private messages or upload as many photos as established members. This keeps spam out. The limits lift on their own as you take part.

Set up your profile

Open the menu with your avatar (top right) and choose Settings. The Profile page lets you set:

• Display name, shown on your posts.
• Bio, in plain text, up to 1000 characters.
• Location and Website (the website must start with https:// or http://).
• Time zone, so event times and dates make sense to you. Pick it from the list (grouped by region, with the abbreviation such as PST) or press Use my device's time zone.

Press save when you are done.

Add an avatar

On the same Profile page, press Change avatar and pick a picture. JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF files work, up to 20 MB.

A window opens so you can frame it before anything is saved:

1. Drag the picture to move it (with a mouse or your finger).
2. Use the Zoom slider to get closer. The mouse wheel works too.
3. The circle shows exactly what other members will see; the dimmed corners are cut off.
4. Press Use this photo to save it, Reset to start over, or Cancel to keep your old avatar.

On a keyboard, click the picture once, then use the arrow keys to move it and + or - to zoom. Animated GIFs become a still picture.

Press Remove to go back to the default.

Add your cars

Choose My cars in Settings. Add each kei you own or have owned, with an optional nickname, year, color, and the dates you got it and sold it. Leave "Sold" empty if you still have the car. If you have a build log on the site, you can link it to the car.

Your cars appear on your public profile. Use the up and down buttons to put your favorite first.

What's new

Choose What's new in the menu at the top of any page to see everything posted on KeiWorld, newest first: forum posts, articles, builds, albums, resources and events. Pick 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days to change how far back it goes. Under those, press Forum, Articles, Builds, Albums, Resources or Events to show only the kinds you want. When you are logged in, your choice is remembered for next time.
